Front-angle view.

Rear end. Still some work to be done.

Arduino to be used to develop the interface between the computer and the front panel hardware.

This flash-card reader will take the place of the DAT tray on the front panel.

The electronics of the front panel. All the buttons are multiplexed, and the switches, buttons and LEDs are all controlled by the HD404729-series microcontroller. This has built-in hardware for driving the VFD. The display itself has two bar-graphs for visualization, along with information about the mode the switches are set to. The controller will control these and report changes via a serial data link.
